An early Folio Society Limited Edition, this is one of only 500 copies produced and hard to find. Green quarter-leather binding. Gilt title on backstrip, gilt decoration to leather on front and rear boards.Marbled endpapers. Foreword by Prince Philip. Preface by Professor Lord Zuckerman. Introduction by Bruce Campbell. 24 full-page paintings are included. On the facing page of each is a description of the bird in question. The slipcase is in red-brown cloth with large gilt crest featuring zebras and eagle. Illustrated by Henry Jones. )
