Xviii, 1101, b&w plates, patterned endpapers, gilt tops, head and tailbands, ribbon bookmarker, original full morocco decorated in gilt and red, original substantial cloth drop-backed box with complete original booklet by Mario Vargas Llosa. Contemporary illustrations are from designs by De Neuville, Bayard, Morin, Valnay, and other eminent French artists. Limited edition of 1750 copies of which this is number 101. )
