In goatskin leather binding with Indian silk boards contained in scalloped leather decorated slipcases. Gilded top edges with ribbon page marker, Lettering on Slipcase and Book Spine designed by Calligrapher, John Andrew. A limited edition of 1750 copies of which this is number 1284. Illustrations by Eric Fraser. Illustrated by Eric Fraser. 2 full page drawings (inc frontispiece) and 19 head-pieces for chapters. The endleaves reproduce Tolkien's own drawing of Thror's Map.
